Starbucks China – Christmas 2012

imageAfter the successful VIP night yesterday, Starbucks celebrates Christmas in their stores.  Red, White, Blue are the colors of Christmas this year.  Snowman, wolves, stars and polar bears dominated the designs. 

Christmas Beverages

The regular Christmas beverages are back!  They are toffee nut latte and cranberry white chocolate mocha.  A new addition to put a refreshing taste on your hot chocolate is the Peppermint Signature Chocolate.  I had a taste of this concoction and it taste weird.  The chocolate and peppermint are both strong that their flavors are clashing.  It wasn’t as smooth as I want it to be.  I still prefer Coffee Bean’s Moroccan Mint Tea Latte.

Starbucks VIP Night & Christmas 2012 Merchandise

Christmas is 2 months away and to celebrate this season, Starbucks will be holding their annual Starbucks VIP night.  The Starbucks VIPs are the gold MSR cardholders.

This year’s Starbucks VIP night will be held in ten cities (Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Tianjin, Wuhan, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Guangzhou).  Last year, it was held in Beijing.  The first 500 gold MSR cardholders to register online for each location will get a message on their mobile phones to serve as their invitation.  The Starbucks VIP night will be on November 5, 2012 (Monday).  Lucky guests will get the chance to purchase earlier the Christmas merchandise and taste the Christmas beverages.  They will also be given a souvenir item.  Last year’s souvenir item was a 2012 Calendar with monthly coupons.

Nationwide excluding East China region:

  • For every purchase of a coffee maker, you will get a free bag of coffee beans (excluding anniversary blend).  Present your MSR card to avail of the free bag of coffee beans.
  • Get 20% off on your morning beverage when you present your MSR card.  You can only redeem this once for every MSR card.  Morning promotion is before 11am.image
  • Get 20% off on your morning pastries when you present your MSR card.  You can only redeem this once for every MSR card.  Morning promotion is before 11am.
  • To promote the Starbucks app, they are offering 50% off on your morning pastries when you purchase a beverage.  Pastries vary weekly.  You must book the Starbucks store where you want to claim this promotion from the app between 7-10am.

Starbucks China: Autumn 2012

New merchandise, beverages, promos and pastries are out today!  For autumn, Starbucks brings you shades of yellow, blue, purple, brown and orange.  Merchandise design are moons, leaves, and rabbit in celebration of mid-autumn festival.

Starbucks Refresha Beverages

No new coffee concoctions were released today but instead two new refreshing beverages simply known as “Refresha”s were introduced.  This year’s Refresha’s are in berry and lime flavors aka berry juice and lemonade.  Picture below:  Very Berry Hibiscus (left) and Cool Lime (right)

Starbucks China: Sneak Peek on Mid-Autumn Merchandise

The social networking sites of Starbucks China is doing a countdown on the launch of new merchandise, beverages, pastries and coffee in celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival.  Mark your calendars of the date:  August 28, 2012 (Tuesday)

According to the barista, there won’t be any Bearista nor new MSR cards.  I’ve had a look at the marketing booklet and the colors are in orange, brown, white, and blue palette.  Designs revolved around autumn leaves, moon and rabbits.

The moon cake in the tin canisters costs RMB 88 for two pieces.  The other items ranges from RMB 75-200.  Come back on Aug 28 for the whole list of items launched and promos for mid-Autumn. 

 

Brewing for 10 Years in Southern China

In celebration of their 10th year anniversary in Southern China, Starbucks will be giving away coupons and notepads to Starbucks customers in Southern China branches. 

From 1 Aug to 27 Aug 2012, for every single purchase of RMB 68, you will be given a coupon for a free drink on your next purchase with a friend. 

From 3 Sep to 5 Sep 2012, for every single purchase of RMB 68, you will be given a free Starbucks notepad.  As always, they are limited till supplies last.

Starbucks Nanchang is Now Open!

If your wandering feet brings you to the capital of Jiangxi province, Nanchang, you will no longer be at a lost on where to find some coffee which suits your taste.  This morning at 8am, Starbucks opened it’s first store in Nanchang.  The coffee chain plans to open 6 to 8 stores in this city within the next two years.

Merchandise being offered are the usual summer items plus the city’s icon mugs, tumblers and demitasse.
